On 8th October 2020, KVK team of Hirehalli, Tumkur visited DHAN promoted Farmer Producers Organization. After interacting with the farmers, KVK team ensured to supply quality seeds, organic fertilizers and necessary trainings for the benefitting the farmers.
Mr. Loganandam, Co-ordinator of KVK, Tumkur also shown interest to give some demonstrations on new variety of seeds to the farmers for the productivity enhancement. KVK team has provided organic fertilizers, field beans seeds to the farmers during the visit.
Mahila Kisan Diwas was celebrated in the region in collaboration with agricultural department of Pavagada on 15th October 2020. Mrs. Vijaya Murthy, Assistant director of Agriculture department, Pavagada, shared her views addressing the participants. 53 women farmers belonging to various AFGs across the taluk participated in the celebrations. Kitchen garden seeds were distributed to the participants free-of-cost. Health staff attended in the celebrations provided awareness on the health addressing the participants and their families.
DHAN Tumkur region in collaboration with Amruth Organics of Chitradurga, given demonstrations regarding the significance of organic farming and the need to use organic fertilizers. Farmers and BoD members have participated in the demonstrations.
The resource team enumerated the benefits of organic farming and the usage of organic fertilizers over the chemical fertilizers. The team also offered to facilitate demonstrations on the impact of organic fertilizers at free-of-cost.
