SUHAM’s New Initiatives
Sustainable community hospitals
Sustainable community hospital is one of the three major streams of Sustainable Healthcare Advancement (SUHAM). Primary and secondary hospitals are promoted for the benefit of the community at grassroots. These hospitals deliver quality healthcare at affordable cost for the member families.
24th Foundation day of DHAN Foundation (2nd October 2020) marked the foundation day for three community hospitals in Semiliguda, Jawadhu Hills and Kalvarayan Hills.
SUHAM Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS)
SUHAM Institute of Health Sciences is an educational wing of SUHAM. Through SIHS, SUHAM aims at providing education opportunities in healthcare for the children of marginalized communities. Wider collaborative network of SUHAM ensures in providing employment for the graduates either at eminent hospitals or with private practitioners.
In addition to the two full-time SIHS in Madurai and Theni, SUHAM inaugurated three SIHS at Jawadhu Hills, Kalvarayan Hills and Kolli Hills on 2nd October 2020. 17 students were enrolled in SIHS at Kalvarayan Hills. SIHS at Jawadhu Hills has received 23 applications and 46 students were applied for SIHS at Kolli Hills.
