Sixth Virtual Heritage Walk
Dharasuram, one of the important historic sites of Thanjavur district, is situated 4 kms from Kumbakonam. The place is famous for its UNESCO World Heritage site, Airavatesvara temple, built by the Chola King Rajaraja II [1146-1163 CE]. The front mandapa known in the inscriptions as Rajagambhiram Tirumandapam, is unique as it was conceptualized as a chariot with wheels. The resource lecture was delivered by Dr. V.
