DHAN’s Response towards Gulbarga Floods

DHAN Gulbarga region response was quick in assessing the Gulbarga floods. Through the RAPID assessment report, it was assessed that nearly 148 villages were severely affected and completely isolated in the district. Out of 148 villages, DHAN is working in 21 villages, 2500 families associated through People institutions.

DHAN Gulbarga region-initiated flood relief activities mobilising funds from the individual local philanthropists and Kalanjiam community organizations. As on 26th October 2020, 1500 members across 18 villages were provided with relief support – grocery kits, cooked food, clothes, sanitary pads etc.

DHAN Foundation Karnataka regions – Tumkur region, Mysore region, Ramanagara region – have commenced mobilizing funds to extend the financial aid to Gulbarga flood affected areas.

Humane Trust

Humane Trust of DHAN Foundation has contributed Rs. 20,000 for the relief activities

People to People Response

DHAN Tumkur region has contributed Rs. 20,000 for Gulbarga region and DHAN Ramanagara and Mysore Regions are also mobilizing funds from the respective community organizations and local philanthropy

Local Philanthropy

Inner wheel club of Gulbarga contributed Rs. 15,000 and Mission Chai Trust of Bangalore contributed grocery support to 60 member families.
