“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
-African Proverb
In a world where we all aspire to go far, collaborations and connections are the only way to achieve mutual goals. DHAN Foundation believes in the power of ‘togetherness’ and it is with this virtue in mind that we seek partnerships with like-minded institutions to go farther than one can think.
In the previous months, DHAN Foundation signed several key agreements with the Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), to strengthen the FPOS and to make it more sustainable. Let us have a glimpse of the key points of the agreements.
- Agreement to promote ten PFOs in Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
- Agreement signed between T.Kallupatti FPO & Peraiyur FPO with SFAC for equity grants
As per the Central Sector Scheme for the formation and promotion of 10,000 FPOs in India, about 10 DHAN-led FPOs were identified in the states of Tamil Nadu and the Telangana region.
As per the scheme of formation of 10,000 FPOs, it will promote the selling of farmers produce from the farm gate of farmers thereby enhanced farmers’ income. This will shorten the supply chain and accordingly marketing cost will get reduced resulting in better income for farmers. It will accelerate more investment in marketing and value addition infrastructure near to farm gate creating more employment opportunities for rural youth.
Equity Grant Scheme extends support to the equity base of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) by providing matching equity grants subject to a maximum of Rs. 15.00 lakh per FPC in two tranches within 3 Year.
