DHAN’s Aurangabad region of Maharashtra constitutes of three locations viz., Vaijapur, Khultabad and Gangapur, working with 3068 families associated in 253 Kalanjiams. Aurangabad district reported 14451 positive cases, 507 deceases and 3030 recoveries as on the reporting period. Among the DHAN’s working regions in Maharashtra, Aurangabad reported the highest positive cases. Unlocking the district after the 15 days of lockdown resulted in hike in the number of cases, cases being reported even in rural areas.

Call centres were initiated in all the working federations across the region. Nodal persons ensured in enquiring the health status of member families on daily basis. Member families in the containment zones were given the top priority.

First virtual awareness cum training programme on “COVID-19 Awareness, Immunity Building and Women Health Issues” was organized in the Aurangabad region for the secretaries of people institutions. Thirty-Nine secretaries from various people institutions across the region participated in the session.
Dr. Sheetal, a civil surgeon, a front-line warrior working in the COVID centre in the Civil Hospital, Vaijapur resourced the session. She delineated the causes of contracting virus, preventive measures to be adopted and the significance of in-taking immunity boosters, physical exercise and pranayama.
