DHAN pioneered in cross-thematic interventions with successful integration across various programmes, contextual befitting and community benefitting, adopting best innovative practices for the holistic development of the communities. Thiruvallur region in Tamil Nadu is one such DHAN’s region, wherein the region is operating with the mutual integrations among two farmer producer organizations, two vayalagam federations and three Kalanjiam federations.
Nested Institutions toward Normalcy
Across the region, 76% of the nested institutions ensured in organizing group meetings as per the scheduled dates following SoMaHa practices. Region facilitated the eligible groups to avail covid-19 loans, wherein 558 members availed loans to a tune of Rs. 27 lakhs. In collaboration with SUHAM, virtual counselling on covid-19 has been arranged for leaders and members of five federations. Furthermore, Arsenicum album 30 tablets have been distributed to 15,000 members in the five federations.
Vulnerability Resilience
Dissemination through voice messages, members were contacted over phone to comprehend and come out with region’s vulnerability mapping. Accordingly, three specific projects were devised with short and long term goals and objectives ensuring the sustainability as well fulfilling the immediacy needs of members, predominantly vulnerable families.

Boundless Generosity
Mr. Jothiraj S/O T.S. Narayanasamy and Girijabai Ammal, a residence of Ondikuppam, Thiruvallur district donated Rs. 65 lakhs as a grant for five federations of Thiruvallur region as a livelihood support for Kalanjiam women members and Vayalagam farmers.
