The DHAN Academy, the development management school of DHAN Foundation, initiated to induct and groom young graduates into development professionals, has its own way of living for the young graduates. It’s uniqueness not only evident in its academics but also the way the young graduates attune themselves to work with the communities beyond caste and creed, across all the contexts.
From the Desk of Student Cultural Committee
“A home is made with love. And it is the love we would like to share with you.”
The young students will be taken through this attitudinal change right from their selection process, with a one-weekvillage stay, living with the community, before admitting into the course. Thus commences the two years’ journey of the graduate in the residential campus. One among the various distinctive features of the campus is“way of life”.
Conceiving the importance of Yoga in maintaining the physical and mental well-being, Yoga is a compulsory credit course for two years. So for a graduate, the day starts with Morning Yoga. Yoga will be followed by morning reflections - a platform forsharing perspectives and practices – and the day of the graduate subsequently graduates into classroom learnings, experiential sharing, readings and reflections throughout the day. On a daily basis, the young graduate will be learning new concepts through the course, will be involving in discussions and debates about the issues in the communities and will be sharing their field experience among themselves for co-learning. Amidst all these things, he/she finds time to immerse themselves in the events; events that revive the culture, heritage and traditions of the communities. One among the annual traditional events is ‘Ethnic Dinner’, where the graduates belonging to different states across the country engage in preparing their respective states’ traditional and famous dishes, which will be sharedwith the DHAN family. Ethnic Dinner signifies togetherness and unity in diversity. On 15th September 2020, DHANites with their family members reached TDA, ensuring all the preventive measuresand participated in thetraditional event along with PDM 19, 20 and PCM 01, 02 batch students.
