DHAN’s philosophy of building community organizations, to organize the unorganized, to create an effective demand system in order to connect with the supply system (e.g., banking sector), has been under implementation since more than two decades. DHAN promoted community organizations, over the last two decades, have been ensuring organizing the vulnerable and marginalised to create an effective demand system, wherein the rural, urban and tribal women and men, farmers, fishermen and fisherwomen can go to the bank and ask, ‘these are the things we want you to allocate for us’.

‘Collaboration’ is one of the core values of the foundation since its inception. All the thematic interventions among the four contexts, ensures collaborative practices at their respective locations in all the fourteenoperational states. DHAN believes collaboration among government administration, stakeholders, banks and apex institutions foster the much needed social development in a more comprehensive way and holistic manner.
