Entitlements in Emergency

Disaster must dismantle the boundaries and restrictions on the working space and people, organizations, institutions of all spheres must come together in addressing the calls of the vulnerable sections of the community. Though the major part will be played by the government through its effective administration and governance, yet there is a dire need in individuals, CSRs, development sector people to come together and help the needy.

Lockdown extension created the daily sustenance hard for low income and vulnerable sections in the community. State government entitlements like cash (varying from state to state) and free ration, central government entitlements like PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM KisanSammanNidhi Yojana, PM Ujjwala Scheme sufficed the people’s monthly needs. Announcement of MGNREGA commencement restored hope in the lives of most of the people, especially in the rural India (who are also the most affected due to the lockdown)

Adilabad

In DHAN Adilabad region, total 10286 members commenced working in NREGS from April 20th. The major activities involved are earthen bunding, farm pond, trench bunding, diversion drainage, desilting of small irrigation tanks, ponds and check dams and pebble bunding. Members are yet to receive their first payment. The wage rate per day is Rs. 237.

As of now, in all blocks of Adilabad region, all our member families’ received the entitlements of 12 kgs of rice and Rs. 1500 from the state government.

Beed

In Beed region, government entitlements viz., Rs. 500 for all the Jan Dhan Yojana account holders, availing free gas cylinder under Ujjwala Scheme, ration and groceries were all ensured to our member families. Members have been informed about the MGNREGA works commencement in their respective areas. Members having no job cards were asked to enroll in MGNREGA scheme. With the support of Deen Dayal Sanshodhan Sansthan of Beed, a doctor has been appointed to provide free medical consultations to Kalanjiam member families.

Kanchi Region

In Kanchi region’s four location combined, out of 4022 Jan Dhan Accounts, 3599 accounts have received the amount Rs. 500, totaling to an amount of Rs. 17.49 lakhs. Identified 108 members who are eligible to avail Ujjwala Scheme and ensuring they will reap the benefits of the scheme.

Khammam Region

As of now, 6237 families received free ration, 6146 families received Rs. 1500 and 4185 women received Rs. 500 under Ujjwala Scheme. Addressing the unemployment and financial crisis, DHAN’s Khammam region with the support of ITC MSK and in collaboration with MGNREGA, identified 39 farm ponds and the list was submittedto EGS to prepare the estimates. Trench cum bunding (TCB) activities have been commenced in the location and had completed 18 Ha.of work, generating 200 man days of employment. 60 members who are in dire need of employment were identified in four locations and works allotted has been in progress.

Munger Region

a. MGNREGA Scheme

In Munger region, 32 Farm ponds and 116 Pynes have been identified for employment creation and the list has been submitted to MGNREGA. 2502 members have been identified in four block who are willing to work DHAN’s renovation work in collaboration with MGNREGA.

b. Other Government Schemes

64 new farmers’ members have enrolled under PM KisanSammanNidhiYojna Scheme who will get a benefit of Rs. 2000 in the first week of May 2020. 23 farmers have enrolled under Bihar Beej AnudanYojna scheme and get Green gram seed for cultivation @ 12 kg/acre. As of now, 210 kgs of seeds have been received by farmers for 17.5 acre of land. 2795 members received amount throughUjjwala Gas Subsidy. 1533 eligible BPL members have been enrolled for getting new ration cards to avail the benefits of Rs. 1000 for grocery under CM Garib Kalyan Yojna.

Mysore Region


In Mysore region, the team has ensured the government entitlements to reach1500 vulnerable families in Malavalli and Bannur locations. Under tribal development programme, regional team has facilitated nutritive food for 250 members.

Nanded Region

In Nanded region, as of now, 4985 members have been benefitted from Jan Dhan Yojana scheme, 3536 members have availed Ujjwala Yojana Scheme and 5830 old people have received the Kisan Pension Yojana Scheme.

Toothukudi Region

In Toothukudi Region, 5121 families received COVID- 19 relief fund Rs. 1000 along with 15kgs of rice,1kg Sugar and 1 liter of Oil from the PDS of state government. In addition to this, our member families in the region have received Rs. 51.21lakhs of amount from the various schemes viz., Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, PM Kisan Scheme andPrime Minister Ujjwala scheme.

Nagapattinam

In Nagapattinam,1647 members benefitted Rs. 8,23,500 through PM Jan Dhan Yojana, 456 farmers availed Rs. 9,12,000 through PM Kissan Yojana. 158 fishermen welfare societies have benefitted Rs. 1,58,000 through government. 11464 members availed Rs. 1000 from the government totaling to 1,14,64,000.

Visakhapatnam

Out of 32000 families, DHAN Foundation is working in Vizag region, 937 families didn’t have ration cards for various reasons, though they are eligible. DHAN regional staff approached the respective administration and applied for ration cards.Most of the members are having Jan Dhan accounts, wherein the staff are ensuring the central government benefit of Rs. 500 gets credited into everyone’s account.

Solapur and Osmanabad

In Solapur and Osmanabad region, 5297 families have benefitted through PM Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, 1228 families have benefitted through PMUjjwala Scheme, 2410 families have benefitted through PMKisanSamman Scheme.
