Disasters can’t be faced alone. People must come together in huge number and work for the common goal, keeping their self-interests aside – to address the call of the vulnerable in the community. In the COVID-19 scenario, DHAN Foundation across its various regions collaborating with CSRs, individual donors to satisfy the basic needs as well as to create livelihood for the kalanjiam members, collaborating with village, district officials, with line departments in addressing the calls of the vulnerable –supplying food, distributing groceries and PPEs, creating awareness programs, ensuring social distances at the gathering places.
DHAN’s Koraput region received a call from district administration on 1st of April, 2020 to attend the all NGOs meeting at Koraput district. DHAN Foundation has distributed 45 masks and awareness leaflets in Odia to the presented district administration and to the NGO members. Post-meeting, district administration has issued 43 passes to our staff to continue the awareness campaigns in the district. Movement passes has been issued to all the associates to work with district administration for maintaining social distancing at public places like PDS distribution centers, ICDS centers, Banks, marketing places, gas distribution agencies, etc. Associates along with DHAN staffs were involved in maintain social distancing at 9 banks, 31 public distribution system centers, 21 COVID-19 support money distribution centers and 37 grocery shops across the region. Staffs are being involved at 62 ICDS centers to maintain social distancing and demonstrating hand wash practices during serving food.Eight Kalanjiams in collaboration with the district administration are serving cooked food to the villagers across the region.
In Balasore region, the DRR committee members in collaboration with ASHA and Anganwadi workers, involved in creating door-to-door awareness programmes; 50 villages have been covered as of now. DRR committee in collaboration with ration dealers, ensuring the entitlements to reach the villagers. As of now, DRR committee ensured 18000 members received the state government cash entitlements and 12000 members receivedthe central government cash entitlements.
DHAN Foundation in Adilabad region collaborated with Tata trust at Rampur village of Ghatanji block for the construction of 13 poultry sheds. Works have been commenced with 90 per cent financial assistance from Tata trust and remaining 10 per cent beneficiary contribution.
In Hyderabad region, DHAN’s Relief proposal has been responded by Asian Paints Limited and the amount worth Rs. 3.5 lakhs for distributing 6666 Personal Protection Kits and 1000 Grocery kits had been approved.
In Kalburgi region, DHAN Foundation in collaboration with KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK) collaboration, creating awareness on healthy immunity building diet system through online platforms viz., sharing videos, photos and presentation made in the local language.
In Kolar region, DHAN Foundation in collaboration with panchayat officials and health staff, created awareness campaigning in 79 villages, and sprayed chemical disinfectants in 97 villages.
In Madurai rural region, DHAN Foundation in collaboration with HELP Age India conducted health campsbenefitting 28 old age people.

In Nanded region,with the collaboration of three other local NGOs, field staff have distributed groceries items (worth Rs. 2000) to 45 kalanjiam families.
DHAN Foundation’s Suham hospital in Kudur region, in collaboration with the Kudur Government Primary Health Centre, have been organizing awareness programme by displaying postures portraying the causes, symptoms, preventive measures of Corona virus and have been creating awareness on usage of personal protective equipment’s (PPEs). All the admitted patients have been given equal importance during admissionsas well as during the treatment.
In Solapur and Osmanabad regions, DHAN Foundation in collaboration with Hippara gram panchayat, distributed masks for 1040 families in the villages.
In Toothukudi region, movement leadersin collaboration with theHorticulture department, have distributed 268 vegetable kits across the region. In Toothukudi region, agriculture department is giving subsidy for summer ploughing to small and marginal farmers. So far 258 Vayalagam farmers did the summer ploughing activity and received Rs.500. Ploughing activity was executed in298 acres and the farmers had received the subsidy amount of Rs. 1.49 lakhs.
In Nagapattinam region, DHAN staff have been involved in screening tests along with health department. As of now, 1800 persons have been screened across the region.
In Madurai Urban region, Suham Health Associates are working in collaboration with more than 15 ICDScenters, 6 Primary health Centres and 25 area nurses for support for avoid the infection of corona virus and others activities. The Suham health staff in collaboration with Anganwadi had engaged in the distribution of KabasuraKudineer in two places.
DHAN Foundation’s Suham institution and CURE programme in collaboration with HCL Foundation donated 1600 Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) worth Rs. 8.3 lakhs to Madurai Corporation Commissioner. DHAN Foundation’s KCBP programme has distributed groceries including 10 kgs of rice to 1000 families in Madurai.
In Vizag region, DHAN Foundation in collaboration with Reliance Foundation, distributed 500 Dry Ration kits(each kit worth Rs. 1000) to 500 families in the region.
In Ramanagara region, NGO coordination committee has been formed under the guidance by Mrs. Harchana, Ramanagara District collector. DHAN Foundation is also part of the committee. The committee must ensure the entitlements to reach the true beneficiaries, providing dairy needs to the quarantine households and ensuring that no one should face the difficult of not having food in Ramanagara.
