A meaningful awareness program was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kolar, on World Water Day, with active participation from 104 members of AFGs, Vayalagams, and Federations. The event, graced by dignitaries from Canara Bank, Water.org, Agriculture Department, and KVK, focused on sustainable water management and community responsibility. Key discussions emphasized water conservation, removal of encroachments in feeder channels, construction of Trench Cum Bunds and farm ponds for groundwater recharge, adoption of climate-resilient agriculture, and learning from traditional practices. The session also highlighted roof water harvesting, water budgeting, prevention of water pollution, and the health risks associated with heavy metal contamination. Participants pledged to take collective ownership of local water bodies and implement conservation practices to ensure long-term water security in their villages.
