ITC Mission Sunehra Kal - Stakeholder Consultation Workshop in Munger District
The Central Team of DHAN Foundation recently visited the Munger region to participate in the workshop organized by the ITC and its partners. Present in the event was the district collector, District Forest Officer – Munger, DRDA, Branch Manager Munger and the CSR team of ITC Munger. Mr. Manjunath, ITC CSR Head, Northeast was also present at the workshop.
As a part of the event, DHAN’s interventions were showcased by the ITC CSR team during the interaction with the district collector. One particular work which was highlighted was DHAN’s work in Saluja, a village in Asarganj block. District Collector appreciated the initiatives of ITC Munger and hinted at the collaboration with our CSR partner.
Later, the team from ITC and other partners visited our project locations. They interacted with the villagers and apprised themselves about the groundwork. The leader of the Vayalagam explained the DHAN’s role in the interventions and the results obtained from it.
On the third day, Mr. Manjunath and Mr. Giriraj Shah - CSR Head for Bihar, Mr. Ashghar Ali, and two other members visited the Vayalagam office. A detailed presentation was made to the visiting team.
One memorable moment of the workshop was when the teams visited a farm pond established by the interventions of Vayalagam. The farmer present there had started fish rearing. He owned only two acres of land and he expressed thanks to DHAN and ITC for the support.
The farmers of the Khaira village in Agrahan village of Kharagpur block explained DHAN’s initiatives to the visiting ITC team. One farmer said that in a period of fifty years, he has never seen the pond filled with water. All the visitors were able to seed the standing wheat crop, which was an indication of the efforts of DHAN interventions. The members of the association explained the entire process of promoting the association and work implementation along with the contribution of the community.
On the fourth day, the General Body meeting was organized in Tarapur with the participation of about 200 plus members. Mr. K.N. Rajkumar and Mr. Nishith shared the purpose, need, and goals of the federation. As part of the event, they selected 15 leaders including the office-bearers.
Mr. Ashgar Ali from ITC also participated in this event and shared about ITC. At the end of the event, Mr. J. Mohan shared that in the future the federation should grow as a model for Bihar. He appreciated the entire community and shared the vision for the federation.
