Nattrunai Eswar Temple Ponsei Village
P onsei (Tirunanipalli) heritage Village which is 13 km from Mailadudurai and 4 km away from SembanarKoil of Nagapattinam District ,famous for its 1500 years old Nattrunai Eswarar temple( A an typical model Chola Temple architecture and sculptures). During the Pallava period this temple was a Brick structure and 1000 years back during the Chola period it was reconstructed as a stone structure. Many stone inscriptions belonging to the kings Rajarajachola I, Rajendra chola1 and Adhithya Karikala chola etc are available with miniature galapada Sculptures.. This place was sung by Devara Moovar Gnanasambandhar, Thirunavukarasar and Sundarar.This resource lecture will be delivered by Dr.V.Vedachalam Archaeologist, Dr.G.Sethuraman Art Historian.
