Land Based Water Pollution is an online course designed by The DHAN Academy (TDA) to address the problem of land-based water pollution mainly arising from non-point source pollution from agriculture and poor sanitation practices. The course highlights the sources and impacts linked to land-based water pollution and identify ways in which pollution control maybe implemented for sustainable results. Gaps in regulatory mechanisms and management practices will be highlighted to build the case for an integrated approach to planning and implementing solutions. Examples of mitigation measures will also be provided to help develop an understanding of approaches/concepts that maybe successfully implemented. Students and Professionals from NGOs, Government personnel from Agriculture, Environment and Water Resource Management departments will engage in the course to enrich their knowledge.
June month marked the successful completion of first online batch with twenty-seven participants – Bangladesh (11), India (09), Nepal (04) and Sri Lanka (03).
Sixty-nine students – India (26), Sri Lanka (21), Bangladesh (17) and Nepal (5) – have enrolled for the second batch online course, the classes commences from July 2020.
