Conservation and Development
Agriculture farmer groups and Vayalagams (community organizations) plays a notable contribution in bringing the positive impact in the farmers’ socio-economic life. They also play a significant role in the implementations of conservation and development activities across all the DVTF (DHAN Vayalagam Tankfed Foundation) locations. DVTF’s enabling role and the communities’ ownership on the interventions providing the direct democracy to the farmers has been ensuring the sustainability of the implementations post-interventions since its inception.

In Khammam region, 202 member families were enrolled in the health insurance under UHIS; 530.80 Hectares of area has been treated using loose boulders structures, rock fill dam, and trench cum bunding works, benefitting 93 farmers.

Amidst the pandemic, these community organizations served as democratic bodies in addressing the sustenance needs of the member families and also facilitated the livelihoods of the members. In the month of September, Khammam region in Telangana organized Vayalagam meetings (65 Nos) and AFG meetings (110 Nos) wherein members and leaders involved in discussing the practice of SoMaHa preventive measures at the workplaces, identification and execution of soil moisture conservation works& plantation works, timely payment of the work done and members’ enrolment in the health insurance.


Trench cum Bunding

In Khammam region,200 hectares of area has been brought under Direct Seeded Rice method of cultivation.272 farmers were provided Rs. 1000 as incentives for the purchase of the micronutrients.
