F or the associates of the Solapur region, the month of November was full of joy and exuberance as they celebrated the Kalanjiam movement with the collective energy of all the Kalanjiam members.

Along with the celebrations, the month also proved to be equally educational as training and empowerment sessions were organized at various places in the region.

Let us have a glimpse of the same.

Kalanjiam Movemement Day

Celebration of Kalanjiam Movement Day

The associates came together for celebrating Kalanjiam Movement Day. The celebrations were held at Gandhinagar & Babuchinagar locations.

As per the tradition, two handfuls of rice were donated by each Kalanjiam member for the needy and poor. The Kalanjiam members shared their reflections and vision with the other members.

Legal Awareness Program:

Legal Awareness Program

The associates at the Solapur region organized legal awareness sessions for the Kalanjiam members. Lawyers and legal experts from the district court in Solapur were invited to address the event. The legal awareness session focussed prominently on sexual harassment at the workplace. Most of the attending members were daily wage workers and thus benefitted from the session.

A livelihood vocational training program was organized at Bapuji Nagar and Bidi Gharkul in Solapur. The event was held in collaboration with the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) and co-sponsored by El.G. Kakade Education Society.

The event was attended by the Kalanjiam members and the major attendees included widows, wage earners, domestic workers. The goal behind the training was to make the members self-reliant and to develop entrepreneurial attitudes amongst them.
