Recognition from Madurai City Corporation to DHAN Foundation

A special award was presented by Madurai City Corporation to DHAN Foundation in recognition of the significant works on roof water harvesting and urban water bodies. DHAN Foundation constructed roof water harvesting structures in six corporation schools Viz.,Avvai Pengal school, TVK school, Ponmudiyar school, Velliveethiyar school, EVR school and Kasthuriba Gandhi schools for fulfilling the safe water drinking needs of the students. The roof water structures in six schools demonstrated as a model unit to exhibit the importance of saving rainwater as a source of drinking water. The teachers were trained to sensitize and build responsibility among the students’ community.

It served as a platform to create awareness among the public as well as among the parents on the importance of roof water harvesting and make them attain practice change. DHAN Foundation joins hands with Madurai City Corporation in creating awareness among the public. DHAN received special recognition for its work on urban water bodies where DHAN had MoU with Madurai City Corporation in renovating urban water bodies. DHAN Foundation’s work in renovating Vandiyur Tank with the support of the HCL Foundation was also appreciated during the award ceremony held on 26th January 2020, at Madurai.
