In collaboration with NAB Foundation and supported through CSR funding from Shanti Feeds Limited, Coimbatore, DHAN Vayalagam Foundation has launched a Tank Renovation Project in April 2025. This initiative is a part of the ReASSURE 3.0 programme and focuses on rejuvenating traditional water bodies to enhance water security and sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
The project was initiated after extensive consultations with local communities and a rapid assessment of tank conditions in the Avilipatty cascade, Shanarpatty block, located in Dindigul district. The community demand, coupled with technical assessments, led to the selection of three critical tanks for renovation. The Total Budget of this project is Rs.15 lakh with Rs.12 Lakh for renovation and Rs.3 Lakh for the endowment.
The selection of these tanks is rooted in their importance to the local community, particularly in supporting three key livelihood needs:
One of the most significant features of this project is the active involvement of women-led Water User Associations under the Vayalagam model. Each tank has a functional WUA, predominantly managed by women members from the community. The renovation work, as well as post-renovation management and maintenance, will be led by these women farmers. This marks a pioneering effort to pilot Women & Water Management programs, empowering women in sustainable natural resource governance.
This collaborative project exemplifies a scalable model of community-led, women-centered water management that not only rejuvenates traditional water resources but also strengthens rural livelihoods and gender roles in environmental stewardship. The learnings from this initiative will lay the groundwork for a broader transformation across the region. This extended phase will require an estimated ₹1.75 Crores, and proposals for support are under development.

Titled "SUHAM on Wheels", this initiative is designed to offer preventive, promotive, and primary healthcare services to poor and vulnerable populations residing in remote rural of Tiruchuli and RS Mangalam blocks in Tamil Nadu, effectively bridging critical healthcare gaps and promoting accessibility and awareness.
This initiative aims to reduce the burden of out-of-pocket (OOPE) expenditure on health, ensure timely diagnosis and referral, and improve health-seeking behaviour by delivering quality health services through fully equipped Mobile Medical Units (MMUs). The project is aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3, 5, 6, 10, and 17, and aims to positively impact over 2,00,000 individuals through direct and indirect interventions.
