T he 22nd Retreat of DHAN Foundation was happened in Four zones namely Madurai, Solapur, Vizag and Bangalore focusing on `Feature Search and Strategic Planning’. The Retreat happens at annual intervals wherein entire DHANites participate. Retreat is a unique annual forum which provides equal space for the DHANites without any hierarchy to meet and share each one’s experiences, reflections, learnings, achievements, and challenges during the year to draw inspiration from fellow DHANites as a self-renewal process. All participants write a reflective report on their experiences with the community for mutual exchange of knowledge, experience and insights. Thanks to Prof.T.V.Rao, Mr.G.Krishnamoorthy, Mr.Frank, Mr.B.T.Bangera, Mr.Thulasiraj Ravilla for their resource inputs in shaping our jurney towards future search and strategic planning. DHAN has gone through different phases of development and moving towards its next orbit of graduation as a learning organization.

The Future Search process enables the community to scan the environment once in five years and to get prepared for the adaptation. Future search is a participative, collaborative, strategic planning method or approach which enables people to create a plan for the most desirable future of their community or organization and the plan they carry out themselves. The process establishes learning planning cycle for community participation. The future search is a planning exercise for the people, by the people and experience in participative democracy. The Future search happens in a practical way to build communities of people who step up to the challenges of their turbulent times and take responsibility for making change happen in a purposeful way. As the world becomes more and more turbulent, the need is inevitable for people to form communities to search their desirable futures together.
