Jeevidam Resource Capacity Building

D HAN’s contribution in the sphere of community banking and watershed development is noteworthy and widely acknowledged. On similar lines, DHAN aspires to take a step further to evolve and demonstrate the producer institution model by institution-building, creating access to credit, increasing the production and marketing components by concentrating on the agriculture and livestock sector. It is under the brand of ‘Jeevidam’ that DHAN has already promoted 64 producer organizations.

As the first step of promotion of the livelihood activity, the Jeevidam associates are identified and placed from the local area. DHAN Foundation along with HDFC - Parivartan carried out training of the Jeevidam associates in Sivagangai, Ramnad, and Pudukottai district.

The training is planned to take place in around 10 blocks in 3 districts. The training comprises 6 modules - 4 classroom sessions and 2 field sessions and is a three months programme Accordingly, Jeevidam associates basic training was conducted from June 16th to 19th. The event was marked online through Google Meet. As a part of the event, the initial two modules of the training were completed. The participants were the Jeevidam associates of the Farmers’ Producer Organization.
