An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills Internship in DHAN Foundation creates platform for the professionals to enjoy a stay with the grassroots for short duration. Surely it is an opportunity to understand and appreciate the ground realities in relation to life style of the poor communities. In addition, the internship project and studies facilitate the individuals to learn our initiatives in addressing poverty across various thematic contexts and helps them to add value to our practices through their findings and recommendations. At times it also encourages individuals to choose a career with grassroots.

Internship in DHAN :

DHAN Foundation receives demand from candidates at national and international levels to do internship with us. As per the internship policy of DHAN, the candidates are encouraged to spend minimum of three months as part of internship for a full-fledged learning from the community. Few candidates may work up to six months. We are encouraging the Professionals than the para professionals from Agricultural and allied from national and international levels. CHRD of DHAN is facilitate the internships. Each intern will have a field guide at location level.

Internship Areas :

Agriculture, Water, Irrigation, Women Empowerment, Economic Empowerment, Community Banking, Health, Mutual Insurance, ICT, Software, Agri Business, Tourism, school education and leaderships in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Pondicherry, Kerala and Maharashtra.

Design of Internship in DHAN :

The internship is designed in such a way to get a full-fledged exposure cum learning on the field realities. Internship project and studies will facilitate to learn DHAN Foundation’s initiatives in addressing poverty across various thematic contexts and would also add value to our practices through internship findings and recommendations. This short stay will be a lifelong memory between Intern and host community.

Pattern of last 10 years – Internship in DHAN Foundation (2012-2022) :

During the last 10 years 2012-2022 more than 250 students were undergone the internship from various universities at national and international level in the theme of Water, Climate change, Health, Agriculture sustainability, Urban water bodies development, Tourism and Heritage, Insurance and Women Development. During last 10 years after the internship around 9 students were joined in DHAN by their choice. Flow of internship is various from 15-35 of every year. Other than internship,

SBI- Fellowship

also engaged in DHAN during last 6 years. Personality Perfection Programme and Campus placement are the major source of the internship engagement and other sources from the frequent collaboration with the universities.
