Water Immersion Programme (WIP) aims to broaden and deepen their knowledge in the water sector and increase awareness about the sustainable use of the precious water resources and the whole programme is taught by practitioners and experts who are presently working in the field. It also provide hands on experience in Traditional Water Management systems, Water Treatment Technologies Surveying and Planning using advanced survey equipments, etc. It is one of kind programme to strengthen the capacity and Knowledge of professionals in water sector.
The expected outcomes envisaged of this programme are
Present status of freshwater at global, country and state level, Basics of Water and waste water treatment technologies and Strom water management
Exposed to Successful Roof water harvesting, drinking water filtration and waste water treatment models at household and institutional level
Understood the traditional Water harvesting structures (Irrigation & Temple tanks, Village Ponds/ooranies) and its relation to rural communities livelihood (drinking water, agriculture, livestock, etc)
Practical experience in handling surveying instruments, Total Station and GPS & Dumpy level and also in Estimate preparation, Survey calculations including participatory need assessment
