Rural Development Immersion Programme (RDIP) is one month programme offered for Newly recruited NABARD and other bank officials. This will have the combination of three days classroom and three days field (village stay) sessions under different contexts for each week.
The major purposes envisaged in this programme are
Understand the Socio-economic profile of the study village and its community, community based organisation.
Participatory Rural Appraisal and Stakeholder Analysis and prepare a Village Development Plan. This may include a visit to Panchayati Raj Institution or Block level Office as the case may be.
Interactions with rural community, Government departments, banks and other financial
intermediaries including SHG federations, farmers clubs and MFIs Field visit to group, cluster and federation to understand group operations, promotion process,
governance, different products, loan appraisal and recovery mechanisms of Micro finance of SHG model
Exposure to Livelihood models (in rural & coastal context- farming and non-farming sector) -Small millets value chain, Inland fishery, Coastal / Marine Fishery / Sea weed collection, Dairy / livestock development and Others (including FPOs)

Field visit to climate change adaptation pilot village to understand the farming issues
