Two days training on sustainable wild Honey collection through BEE COLONIES Project
A two days training program on sustainable wild honey collection through the 'Bee Colonies' Project was conducted in Jawadu Hills Region.
The event was organized by the associates of Kalanjiam of Jawadu Hills and facilitated by SBI Youth For India Fellow Ms. Teja Ghorpade.
The event was graced by guests including NABARD DDM Mr.Shriram and Tamil Nadu Government retired Forest Officer RFO Mr. K.S.Devadaas.
As a part of the event, the right practices and methodologies for collecting wild honey were discussed and demonstrated. For the wild honey collection, its kit material (6 sets) was provided by SBI Foundation.
2nd October being the DHAN's Foundation Day, the brand 'Naviram' for selling of wild honey from the forest and the brand 'Maduram' for selling of hive honey were launched by the farmers who were engaged in honey Collection.
Bee-keeping Demonstration
The event was made a success by Mr. J. Ganeshkumar, Block integrator of DHAN Foundation at Jawadhu Hills, Mrs.Teja Sanjay Ghorpade, Youth for India Fellow as Resource Person and DHAN Foundation staff of Jawadhu hills Mr.Krishnamurti Sir, Mr. Selvaraj Sir, Mr.Ramraj Sir, and all the associates from Dhan Foundation Jamunamarthur.
