Structure of the Development Apprentice Programme

The DAP is a one-year programme.

You will continue to work with one of the DHAN Foundation project teams in a location under the guidance of a senior colleague, your Field Guide (someone experienced in grassroots development).

During this time your field guide will enable you to reflect on the observations made in the field and set learning mechanisms for building your understanding on themes / sector. S/he will also help you build space for yourself so that you get rooted in grassroots development, and set your future goals.

You will be required to write monthly reports outlining your learning; maintain a daily diary; read material relevant to your work; undertake a village study and other assignments given to you from time to time; and participate in a few carefully designed events for reflection and learning.

Your apprenticeship will be reviewed by a group of senior colleagues from DHAN Foundation, who will also help you take stock and plan for the future. This will be done in the midterm (after six months) and finally on completion of twelve months
