Regular Assignments
Development Apprentice will also:
Maintain a daily diary:
Not only will you find your daily diary useful as a tool to reflect on your experiences and prepare monthly reports (discussed below), but it also serves the purpose of sharing your experiences with others. This is a habit that you will never regret having inculcated.
Write periodic reports and document your experiences:
You are expected to write monthly reports. These reports would outline your experiences, should be submitted to your field guide, Batch-teacher and used as a basis for reflecting on your experience. A copy of the report, and a summary/report of the discussion with your field guide, and her/his written comments, should be mailed by you to the HRD coordinator. Due dates for submitting monthly reports and special reports are enclosed in the annexure.
All your colleagues in the organisation will value thoughtful documentation of your experiences. So do make an effort to write. To help you write the reflective report guidelines are enclosed for your reference.
Read material relevant to your work:
It is difficult to over-emphasise the importance of reading. Not only will it open windows to the rest of the world; it will also help you see your work in a broader perspective. Once you get involved in work you might find it difficult to keep time aside to read. However, experience has shown that those who inculcate the habit early on always make time to read, like they do to eat and sleep.
So seek out your own reading material with the help of your colleagues in the project. The Regional Coordinator will also provide you with reading material from time to time. Discuss what you read with others, and perhaps you could even share your views about an article you found interesting by writing about it.
Regular Development Apprentices meet:
In addition to the above events you will be attending Development Apprentices meet which will be facilitated by the Batch teacher with support of HRD of DHAN Foundation. This meet will provide opportunities to learn from the peer group members, reflect on the reading materials given during various occasions, learn from the experiences of senior colleagues and to get direction for field operations.
Participate in events for reflection and learning:
Apart from DHAN's Annual Retreat, which is attended by all members of the organisation, you will also attend atleast two Review and Reflection Workshops for Apprentices. These events will help you get to know your colleagues in DHAN Foundation, understand the organisation better, and to reflect on your experiences collectively.
Regular interaction with Field Guides:
To get the clarity of purpose, you are expected to have regular discussion with your field guide. Get suggestions, written and oral feedback from Field Guide to improve the clarity.
