Being a Gandhian institute, serving communities at grassroots has been the core purpose of the organization since 2nd October 1997. Women and Water were the two thematic programme DHAN commenced in 1997. Revisiting more than two decades of journey portrays the thematic interventions, SPICE institutions and integrated centres, aiming for poverty alleviation, nutritional security and livelihood security of the communities across all the contexts in 14 states. DHAN Foundation as the mothering institution has been guiding, supporting and regulating its family institutions on their mission, policies, strategies and values; each institution operating in its “own unique space”. Nearly 100 places – regions and locations – across the country, DHAN Foundation has celebrated its 24th Foundation day.
