HDFC Parivartan


HDFC Parivartan funded four major Development projects to DHAN. These projects are majorly centred on agriculture development, building social capital for rural economic development, integrated village development in the tribal villages, enhancing the learning facilities of Government Schools and Promote women-based enterprise development and income increase.


The Specific Details of the projects are as follows:


1. Fostering Social enterprises for Upscaling Sustainable Trading of Agriculture produces to enhance Income of Small and Marginal Farmers (SUSTAIN)

HDFC funded to promote 10 Farmer Producer Organizations in three Districts of Tamilnadu, namely Ramnad, Sivagangai and Pudukottai. All these Districts are backward districts and agriculture is the major livelihood. Through this project, about 20,000 farmers are got benefited.




2. Sustainable Economic and Wellness Advancement of Kaani Tribes in Kerala (SEWA)

This project is implemented in the Kaani Tribal villages in the Podhigai hills of Western Ghats, Trivandrum District, Kerala. The objective of this project is to enhance quality of life thru economic development, increased standard of living and document native wisdom. This project envisages to serve in enhancing the quality of life of 14,500, spread in 30 Gram Panchayats.




3. Transforming Government Schools into SMART Schools

With a vision of improving the infrastructure of government schools to foster better learning of the students, HDFC has supported in transforming government Schools in to SMART Schools. Thru this project, establishing 8 Smart Schools to facilitate better learning among Children studying in Government Higher Secondary Schools were taken up in Madurai, Erode and Thoothukudi Districts. Under this project, establishment of the Science & Maths lab to enhance the experiential learning & upgrading the Government School infrastructure like Library, Toilet and Drinking Water facilities to support the students for have a comfortable learning environment were taken up.




4. Livelihoods Interventions for Fostering Empowerment of SHG women in Maharashtra (LIFE)

With an objective of increasing the family income of the poor and vulnerable through on- farm, off-farm and non-farm livelihoods interventions thru women SHGs in the districts of Maharashtra namely, Aurangabad, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded and Osmanabad this project has been implemented.

Saturating the existing women SHG Federations by including the left over poor thereby reaching 24,000 families towards Women Empowerment and Poverty Reduction & Strengthening the existing Livelihoods for Economic Empowerment of poor women by seed fund from HDFC and sustainable bank linkage are conceived as two major sub-goals of this project.
