ESSAY WRITING AND DRAWING COMPETITION
DHAN Foundation, Madurai has been organising Madurai Marathon with last two years to promote and conserve water. This year also DHAN is organising a similar marathon on "Eradication of Anemia" on 22nd Jan 2009. Fifty percent of younger generations and pregnant women are suffering from andemia due to multifarious reasons. This not only affects the over all productivity but also inflicts greater blow to the Lives of the poor.
In order to sensitise boys and girls DHAN Foundation and SHG-TN plan a Madurai Marathon and invites School and College students to participate in the ESSAY WRITING and DRAWING COMPETITIONS on the following topics.
Topic 1: ANAEMIA FREE LIFE IS WEALTH
Topic 2: LET US CREATE AN ANAEMIA FREE WORLD
Topic 3: ANAEMIA AND POVERTY
Topic 4: IS ANAEMIA THE REASON FOR POOR HEALTH?
Topic 5: IF I WERE HEALTH MINISTER, WHAT WOULD I DO TO PREVENT ANAEMIA
Topic 6: CAUSES AND PREVENTION OF ANAEMIA IN SCHOOL CHILDREN

Drawing Competition
School Students and College Students shall participate in the drawing competitions to be organised at District level on the topics mentioned above. The drawing Competition will be held on January 4, 2009 at Fathima College, Madurai.

RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Essays to be submitted in own handwriting on A4 Size (21 x 28cm) Sheets.
- Drawings / Paintings to be submitted in A3 Size (30 x 42 cm) chart papers.
- Entries to be attested as OWN WORK by the competent School authorities.
- Multiple entries are allowed, but each person is entitled to only one prize.
- Contributions submitted are not returnable. Madurai Marathon will reproduce, publish or exhibit them appropriately.
- The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entertained.
PRIZES
Attractive prizes will be awarded to first three places in each category.
Selected essays / drawings will be published in a booklet and exhibited in future public exhibitions by Madurai Marathon.
The prizes for the winners will be given on January 22, 2009 the day of Madurai Marathon.
