About the Festival
The Development Film Festival is organised by Centre for Development Communication of DHAN Foundation, a development organization based at Madurai, India. This festival provides a creative platform for those who wish to bring a positive change in the world by focusing on development issues and themes through short films. The target audiences for the festivals are professionals in the field, development workers and students. The centre has been organizing film festivals for the past eight years since 2005, each edition focused on a specific development issue. The past festivals had an overwhelming response from filmmakers across the globe. The 9th Development film festival planned during September 11-15, 2013, in Madurai is on the theme “Youth for Change”.
