Development Management Programme - Webdesign for NGOs
Does your organization have a website? Do you have to outsource website maintenance even for small changes? Have you ever wondered how to establish and maintain your own website?
The Communication for Development discipline at the Tata-Dhan Academy is organizing a three-day "Web Design for NGOs" workshop. The workshop is designed to first introduce participants to different web design and development techniques, provide an introduction to HTML and other web programming languages, and enable participants to make the wisest choices about the types of websites which make most sense for their organisation.
The "Web Design for NGOs" workshop is a hands-on workshop. By the end of the three days, each participant will have created a mini "website" (comprising at least two pages and a few images). Additionally, participants will be given soft-copies of freeware or open source software so that they can continue developing their websites after completion of the workshop. Finally, each participant will be given 50MB of online storage space (free for up to one year after completing the workshop) where they will be able to host their website.
We request you to nominate one or two employees of your institution to participate in this workshop. As it is a hands-on workshop, it is important that the nominees are comfortable with using computers.
Please register using the included nomination form before 15th of July 2009
