1. Is this course similar to MBA?

This is not a conventional business management course. It is a development management course with a difference. It aims at producing graduates to work with the designated Non Government Development Organisations particularly with poor communities. Management concepts, principles, tools and techniques relevant to development are taught in this course.

2. What are the career prospects after the completion of this course?

The candidates who graduate successfully would be placed in the designated Non Government Development. Oraganisations across the country. The responsibilities might involve planning and Implementing livelihood development and social development programmes for the poor. The remuneration for the graduate is at par with the best in the development sector.

3. What is the pattern of the exam? How to prepare for it?

Development Management Admission Test(DMAT) will be of objective type, testing the following abilities.

  • English language and comprehension
  • Quantitative ability
  • Analytical reasoning

Performance in all the three areas will be taken into account for selection, Relevant management and competitive examination materials can be preferred.

4.Is the scholarship provided to all candidates?

Yes, The fellowship is provided to all candidates who clear the selection process including DMAT and final selection.

5. Is the Academy affiliated to any university? or is it recognized by AICTE?

The Academy is an autonomous Institution growing as a centre of excellence particularly among the Non Government Development Oraganisations. It is gaining recognition among these Development Organisations for the competence and quality of graduates produced by it. We think this appropriate as of now.

6. Why a Written commitment for three years is required?

This is not a commitment, but an opportunity to get assured placement. We expect that one who receives full fellowship support should give back something to the disadvantaged. The contribution could be by committing to work in the development sector for a minimum of three years, which will lay foundation for a challenging career in the development sector.

7. Can I disengage from the programme after joining?

You can. It is facilitated during the first month of the programme. But, If you want to disengage yourself from the Programme after the first month, you will be relieved only when you pay back the fellowship amount received by you till the date of your disengagement as per the norms of the Academy.

8. Whether open university degree is accepted?

No, We accept only regular university degree.
